Dean Palmer

President of New Start Design-Tech.com

Dean Palmer works actively in the fields of ministry, counseling, music, and technology. He has been married for over 14 years to his beautiful wife, Sara, and has two children, Elijah and Katie. Originally from McCurtain, he resided in Oklahoma City metro from 1995 to 2012 and he then moved to the Fort Smith area in summer of 2012 where he currently resides.

He has worked as a technology developer and manager for over 15 years. He worked with Revenue Management Solutions as a software developer & Quality Assurance manager where he developed technology to process both electronic and paper healthcare transactions for large hospitals and banks. He has over 15 years of active experience in managing and developing software and database technology. In addition, he worked with Top of the World, LLC in Norman as the Information Technology & EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Manager from 1999 to 2003. He oversaw the development of their custom EDI platform.

He has worked in the areas of graphic and website design and stage lighting for over 4 years. In June 2012, he moved to the Fort Smith area to work as the Creative Media Pastor for Cavanaugh Church. During this time, he combined his technical skills with a creative focus to advance Cavanaugh Church in the areas of computer/network technology, branding, advertising, graphic design, website design, stage design and lighting.

His volunteer activities have included leading both religious and non-religious affiliated organizations to address the needs of the poor and abused. He served as the President of Board of Directors of Bethesda Inc. Bethesda is a regional counseling organization in central Oklahoma helping over 6,000 sexually abused children since 1982. In addition, he has coordinated groups who help the homeless; most notably, he helped coordinate Oak Hills Church during the city-wide event known as ShareFest for over 3 years in the Oklahoma City metro. In the river valley Fort Smith area, he worked in the area of fund raising for the Maggie House of Charleston as a lead organizer and promoter for the successful Donkey Basketball event in June 2016.

Since the age of 18, he has worked in both full-time and part-time church ministry in the Free Will Baptist denomination as both a senior and associate pastor. He served as the Director of Discipleship and Outreach and Media at Oak Hills Free Will Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. Previously, he served as pastor of Southwest Free Will Baptist Church and Pioneer Free Will Baptist Church for a combined 7 years. He served as the Creative Media Pastor from June 2012 to August of 2016 at Cavanaugh Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is recognized as an ordained minister in the First Oklahoma and Canadian Free Will Baptist associations.

He has earned several degrees which includes a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University and a Bachelor of Theology and Associate in Business from Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore.

His hobbies include playing electric, acoustical, and bass guitars at church, flying RC helicopters, and fishing.
